Is the Verney's Camp for Me?
Verney’s Camp is situated on a remote private concession spanning 10,000 hectares in the south-central part of Hwange National Park.
The camp is surrounded by teak forests and opens onto a waterhole that is a playground for Hwange’s famous elephant herds.
Verney’s Camp features ten classic-style tents, including two family tents, all positioned at ground level on wooden decks. Each furnished tent has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet, and double basins.
Natural paths lead guests to the main camp areas, where the dining area, lounge, and boma overlook the waterhole.
You can enjoy various activities, including day and night game drives, bird-watching, guided walks with armed rangers (subject to guide availability), and short cultural visits to nearby villages.
A half-day tour to a local school within the national park can be arranged, with stops at a small village and the Wild Dog Research Centre.
