Hi Carel,
The herds went back up north of the Sand river last week towards the Kenyan side due to heavy burning and little to no rain for the past two to three weeks on the Tanzanian side of the Serengeti. Most have split into smaller herds and are erratically crossing to either side of the Sand River.
There have been a few movements, but everyone is hoping for a good shower to bring out the new fresh grass for the wildebeest to feed on. Most of the activity is between Kogatende and Lamai airstrip with more herds hanging around the border.
