The recent rainfalls seem to have had an enormous effect on Yaya!
For the last few weeks, she haveĀ been mating with Baba Yao. But, last week her affection has turned to Kibogoyo (one of the six Marsh Males). The photos below show Yaya and Kibogoyo mating despite the heavy rain pouring – the guests witnessed an impressive sound show of roaring and thunder, while Yaya rolled on the mud until she was the same colour as the earth.
However, Baba Yao and Koshoke (both the six Marsh Males) were seen laying low nearby but soon moved towards a termite mount which gave them better elevation to watch the show.
