I was lucky enough to have dealt with Susan. Susan was on the ball from the get go and never hesitated to provide more than sufficient information.

She really bends over backwards for her clients and provides friendly service all the time.

When considering a safari, we were not sure what we wanted, and only had a rough idea about region and budget. Within a day of contacting Discover Africa, we were equipped with multiple options in multiple countries at a variety of budgets. The itineraries offered were all exciting and having spoken further with our agent they could be further tailored to our needs. We ended up going above our budget, because the package deal was exactly what we wanted in the dates we wanted. Safaris are not cheap because of the nature of the environment, vehicle maintenance, specialist guides, and the logistic support associated with it. We saw and spoke with many other people during our time there and came away genuinely believing we had been with the best and had enjoyed the most rewarding time.

Our trip consisted of connecting flights (on progressively smaller planes), from Johannesburg, to Kasane and then West to Xanaka airport on the edge of the Okavango. We then had 9 nights in three different tented camps that moved with us through three different safari areas. The tents were well maintained, insect free (with good door discipline) and equipped with en suite toilet and shower. They were camping style but warm water was available, they were hygenic and service from the camp staff was exceptional. The partnered Letaka safari group were outstanding throughout. Every meal provided was excellent, the majority of the food of restaurant quality cooked on an open fire or in a camp oven. I have no idea how the chef made such amazing bread every day!

The guide Robson, was outstanding, to the point where other guides deferred to his experience and knowledge. We were on safari at the end of the wet season when grass is high and animals sometimes difficult to spot, but through a combination of tracking, observation and local knowledge we missed nothing. Indeed we saw things things that far surpassed out expectations. His knowledge of flora, fauna and birdlife was extensive.

On the end of our trip we tagged on a short trip to Victoria Falls and some single night stays in lodges. Both lodges were excellent, the transfers and help at the border was seemless and our connecting flight to return worked perfectly. Having spent more than we intended initailly we had absolutely no regrets after the trip, it was the best holiday we have ever had (and I have traveled round a bit).

I should note that at the start of our trip from the UK, our main flight was cancelled with just 30 mins before departure. This effectively threw into jeopardy the entire trip. One call to Discover Africa and everything was sorted, with new flights and links arranged before we even touched down in Johannesburg. This is a credit to the company and we could not be more grateful.

I really enjoyed my whole experience with Discover Africa and in particular my experience with our travel agent Megan Warrington. She was extremely responsive and anticipated our needs.

She was also flexible with our travel restrictions and desires to see certain sights. The things that Megan did that stuck out the most was also check in with us during the trip and give us our flight confirmation numbers and was easily accessible for quick questions

We had the most fantastic support from Discover Africa.

With all the travel restrictions and complications caused by the pandemic, Adelle was super flexible and helpful. The communication was excellent, and I always received speedy responses to my messages and questions.

The quality of service was superb, particularly the expert knowledge of the Safari options in Botswana. The itinerary was put together taking into account our budget and at no point did I feel any pressure to exceed it.

The tour itself was wonderful, with excellent accommodation and activities based on our interests. While we were there, Adelle remained in touch throughout. The beauty of Botswana and it’s wildlife is an experience we will never forget.

Megan W (Discover Africa) actively and proactively kept communications flowing with us during the pre-trip planning and leading up to the start of the trip itself. She even reached out during our trip to make sure we received communications from the airlines about changes to our domestic flights.

We were very pleased with her attention to customer service and satisfaction. We spent a few days in Cape Town, and we were pleased with our accommodations and our day tours while there, all arranged by Megan and with very good value for the money.

Additionally, Megan facilitated our flights to/from and our stay at Rattrays Camp on Mala Mala Game Reserve. What an incredible experience! Mala Mala exceeded our expectations in terms of accommodations, food and drink, staff, customer service, and the overall experience. Very high value for the money.

I had very bad experiences with other travel agencies but with Discover Africa it was fast communication, good service and information to reduce costs. The tour from the beginning was well organized, super camps, the tents were perfect and cozy. As I was travelling alone, there were no problems and I was just feeling fine with the great staff.

Working with Megan from Discover Africa to setup our safari was a breeze. She manage to get us to all of the locations we wanted to get to and the camps we wanted to visit.

She was incredibly responsive and helped us with any questions or problems we had. (Don’t forget to find somewhere to store your hard-sided suitcases when you switch to duffel bags!).

All of the Sanctuary Lodges blew our expectations out of the water. Our tracker Sky at Chief’s Camp was amazing and we spent four hours one day tracking down a rhino until we finally managed to see it making our trip complete! The staff at all of the Sanctuary camps were incredibly and being able to go in either private or small groups (4 total people) game tracking made the experience infinitely better.

My only advice to fellow travelers would be to try to take a day trip to see Victoria Falls from the Chobe area instead of going to a camp in Zambia. We found the Botswana national parks to be an overall much better experience than those of Zambia.

This was a surprise weekend getaway to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary!

Andre made all the arrangements for our weekend down to letting our lodge know it was our anniversary. The lodge spoilt us with a rose petal bubble bath and bubbles to drink there in-such fun!!

We had planned to go in 2019 and then a COVID hit. Mathys Van Aswegen from Discover Africa was with us all the way. 2 years!

He planned the perfect Safari for us starting at Victoria Falls in Zambia. Every detail from transportation to lodging was perfect!!!

Exceeded all expectations and is absolutely our favorite vacation ever and that includes Italy, France, Ireland!
