Joining a safari for one proved to be challenging in 2020. Once I was contacted by Adelle at Discover Africa, she found me safaris I didn’t even know existed from internet searching.

I couldn’t have done it without her! It’s definitely better to have someone on the ground in Africa helping you. I will certainly use them in future Africa travels. The experience once I made it to Tanzania was seamless, and I had local contact numbers in case I needed them. The quality of safari booked was also excellent.

The delivered on everything that they promised, granted, I did the book online and only communicated via email. The guides are very friendly and very knowledgeable. The tour vans were nice, new, clean and equipped with WiFi.

Megan is extremely responsive and attentive. She catered to my needs in great detail. I would not hesitate recommending them to anyone planning a trip to Cape Town and Johannesburg.

My mom and I travelled to SA in March 2019. Matthys suggested the ideal lodgings for us in Pretoria (131 Herbert Baker) and safari option (Sabi Sabi Little Bush Camp).

We could not have been more pleased. The food and hospitality at all locations was above and beyond our expectations. All transfers were reliable and on time. The value for money was excellent. I will book through Matthys and Discover Africa again when we return.

Megan at Discover Africa helped us turn a simple safari into the trip of a lifetime. She exceeded expectations at every turn. We had a package deal for a basic safari but knew that we wanted to make more of the trip than just that.

Megan helped us to find our perfect balance of luxury and budget and to spend the right amount of time in the right places. Even though we live on the other side of the world, she was always accessible in our planning to answer questions and provide options and constructive advice. And that accessibility continued throughout our travels which gave us great comfort knowing we could get questions and concerns answered right away.

Our safari at Sabi Sands Little Bush Camp was more than we ever imagined with top-notch luxury, great food, and incredible safari drives. We had sightings of just about every animal in the region including cheetahs and leopards on the same day.

We are very seasoned travelers. We travel all around the world and the vast majority of the time, we organize and book our own travel. A safari, though, is a different matter, as far as we see it.

We didn’t know where to begin and we only had three months to get it all squared away, so we decided an agent would make the most sense. We used SafariBookings.com and had several agents respond, all with very tempting itineraries.

However, the professionalism and expertise of Discover Africa’s agent, Matthys, was head and shoulders above the rest of the pack. We worked with Matthys over several days to fine tune the itinerary and we ended up with an itinerary that seemed like it was going to provide an amazing experience for us on our first time to S. Africa and first safari experience. Each day on safari we would mention to each other how finely tuned the planning Matthys at Discover Africa was.

Transfers, food allergies, special needs … everything was all taken care of. Not only that but the safari lodges we stayed at fit us perfectly. It was as if a close friend, who knows us well, had booked these for us. The fact that Matthys is on the other side of the planet in Cape Town, has never met us before, and we only communicated via email … well, we were definitely impressed. I doubt it was just luck, either. We stayed at three different lodges. Each was typical “us” and when we looked at other lodges online, we saw that Matthys definitely pointed us in the right direction.

A safari is a must-do experience, for sure. And I can’t imagine ever going on another one without using Discover Africa as our booking and planning agency. Bravo!

We just came back from our outstanding 7-day trip to Botswana and Zimbabwe organized by “Discover Africa”.

From the very first moment on when we got in touch with Megan from Discover Africa about 7 month prior to the trip everything was very professional. Megan was very proactive and reactive to all kind of questions and also gave some important information which helped us to select the right camps.

We have been in Okavango Delta and stayed at Camp Okavango. This is a very magic place. If you are coming from a busy city in an industrialized country and suddenly you are put in this significant landscape, is a really outstanding experience. The people in this camp are so friendly and each individual goes far the extra mile to make the stay as extraordinary as it was. The wildlife guides are very experienced and the best part of this camp are the hikes, together with the guides. We have collected so many impressions, which would be far too much for this review.

Just one of “never forget” experiences have been the approach during a hike to a pride of lions which we viewed just like 20 meters away. This is lifetime experience we will never forget. After that we continued to Chobe Game Lodge, which was very different from Okavango, but also very beautiful and outstanding.

Chobe is a very interesting area. We have seen 4 out of the “Big 5” there. Unfortunately no Rhinos, but I think that’s become very rare these days Unfortunatly. Chobe Game Lodge is also an excellent place and the people are doing an outstanding service there. After Chobe we continued to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. We stayed and Victoria Falls Safari Lodge.

Victoria Falls is something very impressing to see. I think once been there, it’s very impressive but we not go there again. Besides the Falls there is noch much around and the area is very expensive and only focuses on tourists. Vic Falls Safari Lodge is nice, but from a Service standpoint not comparable to either Camp Okavango or Chobe Game Lodge.

Overall, from an organizational standpoint, Discover Africa organized a great trip and everything worked out very well. We never had a situation where we felt uncomfortable or did not now how to go ahead. I would express my sincere appreciation to Megan and the whole team at Discover Africa who made this trip possible for us. For sure in future we will again go with Discover Africa.

We loved working with Discover Africa for our trip. Matthys was excellent to work with and gave us great advice on how to maximize our time in Africa. We went to South Africa, Botswana, and Zimbabwe.

Everything was so well organized and we did not have to worry about a thing while we were gone. It was truly an unforgettable experience and we’ve had so much fun telling our friends and family about our African adventure. I highly recommend Discover Africa and can’t wait to go to Africa again!

Karl was a great advisor for our Safari in a game reserve in South Africa We started the search late for a period when everything is almost booked, but Karl never gave up and proposed us something that fitted perfectly for our family of 7 from Argentina. The place, staff and experience was great, and we are very pleased with Karl and Discovery Africa service. Thanks Karl!

Service: The planning services provided by Discover Africa were top notch. They were very responsive to our communication and very friendly.

We encountered an issue where one of the places we wanted to stay booked up at the last minute, but Discover Africa handled it very professionally (alerting us to the change, providing multiple alternative options, trying their best to secure us a good rate given the trouble).

They checked in with us before the trip to make sure we had what we needed and checked in after the trip as well. Great travel company! Experience: we spent two nights in Kruger National Park at Hamilton’s tented lodge. The setting and amenities were everything you could have asked for, including onsite wildlife, friendly staff, beautiful rooms, good food, stops for coffee and cocktails during game drives, afternoon massages, etc.

Highly recommend both Kruger and Hamilton’s.

Communication: I reached out to multiple tour agencies when trying to book my safari. Out of all of them, Discover Africa stood out the most. Their communication response was excellent. They responded emails quickly, gave the option of communicating through WhatsApp, and phone calls. This was key in getting the conversation rolling.

Helpfulness: The agent I worked with was Megan. She took the time to understand my interests, budget, and questions. Based on that, she provided more personalized options when deciding the proper safari lodges, travel, and accommodations to consider.

Easiness: The agency provided very detailed and personalized itinerary just for me online and a PDF version on email as well. Even once the safari was booked many months in advance, Megan reached out about a week before my travel dates and sent all the documents necessary to make my travels easy pre-tour, during the tour, and post tour.

I will definitely consider using Discover Africa again next time I am back.

Megan was absolutely amazing. She really listened to what I wanted for my family’s first Safari. Megan was super detailed and always available for any questions or concerns.

Royal Madikwe was exactly what we were looking for. Our game drive tracker, Douctor was very knowledgeable and respectful of the animals space. My kids loved him! We learned so much and saw everything we wanted to see.

The food was phenomenal and the staff was so kind and professional. Our accommodation was beautiful and comfortable. What a fantastic family adventure!

The trip was fantastic. Megan was great to work with. We didn’t really know what to expect but were surprised with the amenities of the lodges and the uniqueness of the safaris. All of the guides and service staff were so kind.
