When’s the Best Time to Visit Erindi Private Game Reserve?
The dry season (May to October) is the best time to go to Erindi. While winter nights can be cold, you can enjoy clear skies and minimal rainfall. Thanks to the dry conditions, animals are easier to spot congregating around the remaining water sources.
During the wet season (November to April), rainfall is more present, creating muddy conditions, which can put a damper on your safari. But this time of the year is fantastic for birdwatching safaris in Namibia.
Animals Found in Erindi Private Game Reserve
Erindi is home to over 20,000 animals, including elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, both black and white rhinos, hyenas, and wild dogs. You could even have the opportunity to spot the incredibly rare pangolin!
For birders, Erindi has over 300 endemic bird species. Some you may spot include the grey go-away bird, also known as a lourie, vultures, grey herons, and white-tailed shrikes (only found in Namibia and Angola!)
How to Get to Erindi Private Game Reserve
The game reserve is approximately a two and a half hour drive via transfer north of Windhoek. There is also an airstrip near Old Traders Lodge, which is easily accessible by private charter.
