Water-based safaris allow you to visit places that are inaccessible by land, and they focus on finding and getting close to water dwelling animals. These activities almost always provide a beautiful view and are far more calming and quiet than drives or hikes. Sunsets on the lake are usually spectacular, and bird viewing is especially nice near water. Some of the best destinations in southern africa to experience these water safaris include; the beautiful Okavango Delta in Botswana, the Bangweulu wetlands in Zambia, as well as the distant Liuwa Plains in western Zambia.
