Hwange National Park
August is also a great time to visit Hwange National Park as this is a Big Five destination, although spotting black and white rhinos is rare.
The park hosts one of the largest elephant populations in the world, so you’ll likely see a herd on a game drive.
Other wildlife that occurs in good numbers include giraffes, hippos, zebras, wildebeests, lions, and hyenas. You might even spot the African wild dog, cheetah, and leopard if you’re lucky enough.
