Peering out beneath giant ebony trees, Camp Moremi brings true meaning to the word safari in the Xaxanaka area of the Moremi Game Reserve.

Picturesquely situated 100 km west of the Victoria Falls, overlooking the Chobe River and the Caprivi floodplains, the iconic Chobe Game Lodge is the only permanent safari lodge within the Chobe National Park.

Chobe’s wildlife roams in abundance and diversity and is home to the largest concentration of elephant in Africa. During the dry season these large herds, as well as vast herds of buffalo, congregate along the fertile flood plains of the Chobe River where they come to drink, bathe and play. Xugana Island lagoon is widely accepted as being the most spectacular permanent water site in the entire Okavango Delta. Situated on a wooded island abutting the lagoon, the lodge takes full advantage of this magnificent site. In fact, the lodge was only the second permanent lodge to be constructed in the area.

Xugana Island Lodge is the perfect place to relax, although guests should not miss the opportunity to take part in classic Okavango Delta activities on offer. These include meanders along the waterways in mokoros, game drives for sightings of animals in the Okavango Delta, including the opportunity to spot the rare red lechwe and African wild dog.
