Terms and Conditions for Win Your Dream Safari Competition

1. Competition Overview
1.1. The Win Your Dream Safari! (“Competition”) is organised by Discover Africa (“Organiser”) in collaboration with Sabi Sabi and federal Airlines (“Partners”).
1.2. By entering the Competition, participants agree to these Terms and Conditions and any decisions made by the Organiser, which are final and binding.
2. Eligibility
2.1. The Competition is open to anyone aged 18 years or older at the time of entry.
2.2. Employees of the Organiser, its affiliates, partners, subsidiaries, and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.
2.3. Entrants must have a valid public Instagram account for the entire duration of the Competition to ensure entries are visible. Private Instagram accounts are not eligible.
3. Entry Requirements
3.1. Entry is free; no purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win.
3.2. To enter, participants must:
– Follow the Organiser’s and Partners’ Instagram accounts.
– Tag at least one friend or family member in the comments of the pinned competition post.
– (Optional but required for ONE additional entry) Share a favourite safari memory they have experienced, tagging the Organiser and all Partners to qualify for the extra entry.
3.3. Each participant may earn a maximum of one extra entry by sharing a safari memory.
3.4. Entries must comply with Instagram’s guidelines and must not contain prohibited or inappropriate content.
3.5. Each participant may only enter using one Instagram account. Entries from multiple accounts by the same individual will result in disqualification.
3.6. Verification of Entries: Entries will be manually verified by the Organiser. Only publicly visible Instagram comments on the pinned competition post, as well as any posts where the Organiser and Partners are tagged (for the extra entry), will be deemed eligible.
Competition Period
4.1. The Competition begins on 17 February 2025 and ends on 31 March 2025 at 23:59 SAST (“Competition Period”).
4.2. Entries submitted after the Competition Period will not be considered.
Prize
5.1. The grand prize includes:
– A two-night stay for two adults at Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge, including:
– Luxurious accommodation
– Three superb meals daily
– All drinks (except French Champagne and Private Collection wines)
– Morning and evening open-vehicle safaris
– Walking safaris and sundowners
Return flights with federal Airlines, including:
– Two complimentary return tickets between Johannesburg and Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge serviced by federal Airlines
– Subject to seat availability and operational schedule
5.2. Exclusions:
– The prize does not cover the Sabie Game Reserve (SGR) Conservation Levy of R350 per person per night (payable by the winner).
– Promotional images and videos used of Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge and federal Air is not indicative of the room you will be receiving or the exact flight you will be on. Subject to availability.
– Additional costs such as boutique purchases, spa treatments, laundry, and other personal expenses are not included.
– Airport taxes are for the recipient’s account and will not be covered by federal Airlines.
– Any additional travel expenses outside of the federal Airlines flights are not covered.
– The voucher must be presented when booking flights.
– If lost, the voucher will not be reissued.
5.3. Blockout Dates & Validity:
The prize is valid for travel up to and including 4 April 2026.
Federal Airlines’ blockout dates and operational schedule will apply, subject to availability.
The Grand Prize is subject to availability and excludes long weekends, public holidays, and peak periods (Easter and 20 December 2025 – 10 January 2026).
5.4. The Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge stay is transferable, meaning the winner may gift it to another person but cannot be sold, exchanged for cash, or altered in any way. However, the Federal Airlines flight voucher is non-transferable.
5.5. Prize Substitution: If the Prize (or any part thereof) becomes unavailable for any reason, the Organiser reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value.
5.6. Additional Costs and Taxes: The winner is responsible for any applicable taxes, travel documentation (e.g., visas), and costs not explicitly included in the Prize.
5.7. Travel & Safety: The Organiser and Partners are not responsible for any injuries, accidents, or losses incurred before, during, or after the trip.
Winner Selection
6.1. The winner will be randomly selected from all eligible entries using a third-party tool (e.g., Comment Picker) or a manual randomisation process, overseen by an independent observer.
6.2. The winner will be announced on 4 April 2025.
6.3. The winner announcement will be made via:
– A dedicated post on Instagram
– An Instagram story
– A direct Instagram message to the winner
A blog post on the Organiser’s website
6.4. The winner must respond within 7 days of being notified. If the winner does not respond within this period, the Organiser will attempt to contact them via any available email address before selecting an alternative winner.
6.5. Ineligibility: If the selected winner is found to be ineligible (e.g., an employee, multiple accounts, or otherwise in breach of these Terms), a new winner will be chosen using the same random selection process.
Disqualification
7.1. The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify entries that:
– Are incomplete, incorrect, or violate Instagram’s terms.
– Use automated or fraudulent methods to increase chances of winning.
– Are deemed inappropriate or offensive.
7.2. Fraud Prevention: The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any entry suspected of fraud, including the use of bots or multiple accounts that unfairly influence the outcome.
Content Usage
8.1. By entering, participants grant the Organiser and its Partners (Discover Africa, Sabi Sabi, and federal Airlines) the right to use their entries, including any user-generated content, for promotional and marketing purposes without additional compensation.
8.2. Winner’s Content Creation: By accepting the Prize, the winner agrees to create and share at least one social media post (tagging the Organiser and Partners) and provide 8-10 high-quality images or videos from their experience.
8.3. Non-Winning Entries: Non-winning participants may request the removal of their submitted content from future promotions by contacting the Organiser.
Disclaimers
9.1. This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, Instagram.
9.2. The Organiser is not responsible for technical errors, unauthorised access, or third-party actions affecting the integrity of the Competition.
Data Privacy
10.1. The Organiser will collect and process participants’ personal information solely for the purpose of administering the Competition, in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
10.2. Personal data will not be shared with third parties except as necessary for the administration of the Competition.
Modifications and Termination
11.1. The Organiser reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Competition if circumstances beyond its control disrupt its integrity or feasibility.
11.2. Any changes will be communicated promptly on the Organiser’s official Instagram account and website.
Liability
12.1. To the extent permitted by law, the Organiser and its Partners exclude all liability for any loss or damage suffered by participants or third parties arising from the Competition or the use of the Prize.
12.2. The winner and their guest assume full responsibility for any risks associated with the Prize, including travel and safari activities.
12.3. The Organiser and Partners are not liable for any unforeseeable or indirect losses, including but not limited to travel cancellations or force majeure events.
Legal Compliance
13.1. This Competition complies with South African laws, including the Consumer Protection Act and Lotteries Act.
13.2. Any disputes will be resolved under South African jurisdiction.
13.3. International Participants: By entering from another jurisdiction, participants acknowledge that South African law applies and waive any claims under foreign laws.
