Arusha

Staying at Katambuga House

Arrive at Kilimanjaro airport and meet with our safari guide. Private transfer to the luxury guest house, where you have the balance of the day at leisure to relax, and decompress from your flight. Depending on your flight time, we can organize a day tour to nearby Lake Duluti, a cultural visit or a guided cycle tour, contact us for options. Katambuga House is located in a quiet suburb, with large gardens, a pool and offers delicious fresh food. Meals are for your account today, as per your preferences/schedule.

Day 2

Tarangire National Park

Staying at Lemala Mpingo Ridge Lodge

Breakfast and meet with your guide for a briefing and to discuss your next few days on safari. Then depart in a private safari vehicle vehicle and travel through to Tarangire National Park, about 2.5 hours away.

Tarangire National Park is the sixth largest national park in Tanzania. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire river that crosses through the park, being the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons. It covers an area of approximately 2,850 square kilometers(1,100 square miles.) The landscape and vegetation is incredibly diverse dotted with vast numbers of Baobab trees, dense bush and high grasses.

Enjoy a game drive in the Tarangire with a picnic lunch and travel to the lodge in the afternoon. Enjoy some time in your tent with magnificent views over the park and enjoy a delicious dinner under the stars.

Day 3

Tarangire National Park

Staying at Lemala Mpingo Ridge Lodge

Today is spent game driving in the Tarangire with your private vehicle, we suggest taking a packed lunch and enjoy a picnic in the park.

The park is famous for its huge number of elephants, and baobab trees. You can expect to see any number of resident zebra and wildebeest, as well as waterbuck, giraffe, and olive baboons. Home to more than 550 species, the park is a haven for bird enthusiasts who can expect so see dozens of species even in the dry season. The swamps are the focus of the largest selection of breeding birds anywhere in the world. Yellow-collared Lovebirds are a common bird sighting in the trees along the Tarangire River.

Back at the lodge in the afternoon and relax before dinner.

Day 4

Karatu

Staying at Acacia Farm Lodge

Drive to the Serengeti National Park and enjoy watching the great wildebeest migration. Nasikia Naona Moru Camp will be your home for the next three nights, with all your meals and activities included.

This tented camp is situated on an elevated viewing point alongside the famous Moru Kopjes, offering a fantastic vantage point for spotting game and migratory herds throughout the year. The landscape stretches from the southern plains of the Serengeti, into the central hub of the most famous national park in Africa. Additionally, the tented suites cater for honeymooners with private bush dinners, small groups and families. 

Encounter guided wildlife viewing, bird watching and nature walks in the central Serengeti, while balloon safaris are a romantic and evocative way of experiencing the wilderness of East Africa. This affords you a unique perspective as you silently fly over the plains.

Day 5

Karatu

Staying at Acacia Farm Lodge

After breakfast, exit the area and travel to nearby Lake Manyara for your game drive. Spend a couple of hours in the park and stop en-route to enjoy your packed lunch at one of the picnic spots.

Lake Manyara National Park centres around its eponymous alkaline lake, a key habitat for hundreds of bird species. Between November and April, thousands of greater and lesser pink flamingos gather on its shores, along with pink-backed pelicans, yellow-billed storks, grey herons and pods of hippo. Surrounding the lake are marshlands, grassy plains and acacia woodlands, home to tree-climbing lion and long-tusked elephant. Giraffe strut across the grasslands, where herds of buffalo, zebra and wildebeest graze.

Exit the park and travel to nearby Karatu and the luxury guest house Acacia Farm Lodge, for dinner and overnight.

Day 6-8

Northern Serengeti

Early breakfast and transfer to Manyara airstrip; say your good-byes to your guide and fly to the North of the Serengeti.

The area has amazing wildlife all year long, but is most visited between July and October when thousands of wildebeest travel through the plains to reach to Mara River and cross over to the Masai Mara.

Meet with the camp guide and transfer to the Serengeti Bushtops Camp, ideally located not too far from the river. This is your home away from home for the next 3 nights. The lodge is small with 12 tents and offers amazing views over the plain. Your tent is your personal kingdom, ideally suited to restful sleep, taking an open-air shower beneath the warm African sun, or unwinding as you await drinks from your private butler.

Chat to your guide to plan your days with the scheduled shared game drives - you can either enjoy a morning drive and back at the lodge for lunch and a siesta before the afternoon drive; or pack a picnic lunch for a full day of game viewing.

Dinner is served outside under the stars, or in the lodge's restaurant - It’s hard to imagine a better conclusion to an exhilarating day’s game viewing than being invited to a gastronomic experience. With a campfire glowing outside, this is life in the bush at its most refined: the perfect place to end a perfect day, as the hot sun sinks slowly out of sight.

Day 9

End Of Itinerary

Last morning in the bush and transfer to the airstrip. Your flight to Arusha airport is included. You will meet a driver for the transfer to the village market, where you can spend some time at leisure to do some curio shopping and enjoy lunch (your own account). Then transfer to Kilimanjaro airport on time for your flight; we can also book a day room if you prefer (optional extra). Let us know if you would like to extend your trip with a hop into the Masai Mara, a few days at the beach or a gorilla trekking in Rwanda, contact us for options.
