An ancient rain forest, Bwindi extends over a series of steep ridges in the Virunga Volcanoes mountain range. Declared a UNESCO world heritage site due to its ecological uniqueness and natural beauty, roughly half of the world’s total gorilla population live in this park.

This short private tour is ideal as an extension to your safari in East Africa; or we can build on and include additional nights to Queen Victoria National Park or Kibale for example.

Note: Gorilla Forest Camp is being renovated to offer a fantastic luxury lodge in 2025.

Your 4-Day Itinerary

Arrive at Entebbe airport where you are met by our ground representative. Road tansfer to the hotel in town, time at leisure and dinner included.

Far from being a big, noisy African city, Entebbe retains a sense of wild Uganda. Depending on your flight time, we can add a guided tour of the city, or nearby Lake Victoria. Alternatively, you can visit the Mabamba swamp for a chance to view a Shoebill.

Transfer to the airport for the local flight to Kihihi, followed by a private road transfer to the lodge.

Welcome to Bwindi! A hymn to eco-conscious design, the lodge blends effortlessly with the dramatic mountain landscape, offering seclusion and space amidst the ancient rainforest; with only ten private luxury tents, an intimate and exclusive experience is guaranteed.

The day is at leisure to relax and take in the surrounding nature. We can add some activities, depending on your preferences: cultural visit, hikes, spa treatment

Gorilla families have been known to pay a visit to the camp itself – just imagine the magic of waking up to the sight of a magnificent great ape.

As the mist clears and the forest awakens, the incredible experience of gorilla trekking begins. While Bwindi’s gorillas are completely wild, years of habituation, have made them used to human presence, meaning you will have the rare opportunity to observe these majestic creatures up close. Expert guides will lead the way and explain the complicated etiquette of meeting a giant silverback. Once the gorillas are located, you will spend one hour with them before returning to camp.

Balance of the day is at leisure, the meals are included at the lodge. .
